Hygienist Team Lead
I completed my schooling in Tallahassee, Florida and have been in practice for over 30 years. I am licensed to practice Dental Hygiene, including Anesthetic and Nitrous Oxide administration. I have been with this wonderful practice for over 20 years and love the patients and my co-workers. My favorite thing about being a hygienist is serving people, it is so fulfilling to guide a person from a state of disease to a state of health. Most people do not enjoy dental visits ,so my goal is to give the best experience possible to make them want to come back and maintain their health.
My daughter, Jessie, is pursuing her dream as a hairdresser and studying the field of aesthetics. My son, Jake, is in high school and loves lacrosse. My latest interests include Cross Fit, hiking fourteeners, and I am attempting an obstacle course race.
I am one of the “fab” hygienist’s, my favorite thing about being a hygienist is getting to know each patient, I am a Colorado native and most of my 40+ immediate family members still live in this wonderful state. Memories of my childhood were hanging out with my four siblings donating all my dolls to my younger sister while I played kick ball in the street. Surprisingly, I did not play sports in school but instead studied hard.
We have 2 adult children both working at good jobs, an adorable, lovable, handsome, almost 8-year old grandson. He keeps us on our toes with his tendency to bend rules and negotiate terms just like his dad.
My interest in the dental field came from my mom who loved her hygienist and thought it was a good profession. So, I worked during high school years as an assistant before receiving my hygiene education at Loyola University in New Orleans. I have always been an active member of the hygiene association to become a better hygienist through CE courses, involvement, and networking with other hygienists.
My spare time hobbies and interests are most important helping to raise my grandson and be a big part of his life. I am a member of a group creating homemade greeting cards.
As most of you know, I can talk sports to anyone especially the Broncos, poor Rockies and sometimes the Avalanche. I will love to continue to fight plaque, gum disease and provide a beautiful smile for each one of you. That has been my mission for over 35 years and I love the interaction with patients, your life stories and the ways you stir in me a desire to be the best hygienist I can be.
I truly appreciate every person young and old that walks through my corner room, my goal is that you walk out knowing that I have educated you to be a healthier person with a beautiful smile that lasts forever.
I received a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from Wichita State University. My favorite thing about being a hygienist is being able to educate patients about their oral health. I enjoy getting to know my patients on an individual level. I feel that I am a very empathetic person. I understand the dental office can be a scary place for patients. I do my best to put my patients’ fears at ease and help them see that we offer an amazing atmosphere, with personalized care.
I am new to Colorado. My husband and I always said that we would call Colorado our home one day. I moved here a year and a half ago and my husband followed about a year later. We enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring everything Colorado has to offer with our fur-baby Riley.
