Then, you’ll come in for a second office visit to have the final veneers permanently bonded to your teeth.
Lumineers
Lumineers differ from traditional veneers in a couple of ways. First, they are thinner and therefore do not require your teeth to be shaved down before application. Lumineers simply bond to the surface of your natural tooth with no enamel removal necessary. And unlike traditional veneers, Lumineers are not permanent and can be removed if needed.
How to Choose?
Both traditional veneers and Lumineers are resistant to stains and chipping, providing patients with sparkling smiles that can last 10-20 years. For patients who have significant dental imperfections that could require more extensive work to reshape their teeth, traditional veneers might be the better choice. But if you’re looking for a reversible and less invasive procedure, you’d likely be a good candidate for Lumineers.
