CEREC dental crowns are an innovative approach to the dental crown-making process, cutting down the time it takes to restore your smile significantly. Ordinarily, receiving a dental crown takes multiple visits to the dentist, but because CEREC crowns are made right in our office, you can receive your crown the same day. CEREC crowns are made of durable, tooth-colored porcelain, so you don’t have to worry about skimping on quality for the convenience of CEREC!
What is the procedure for getting a dental crown?
When you come in for your visit, your dentist will give you a thorough exam and cleaning to make sure your teeth are ready to receive the crown. For traditional crowns, your dentist will either mold your teeth or take extensive dental X-rays and photographs that are sent to a lab where your crown will be made. When it’s complete, you’ll come back in to have it attached. For CEREC crowns, the digital images are sent to the machine that creates your new crown in as little as 20 minutes! Your dentist then applies the crown the same day!
