How to Reduce the Spread of COVID-19

December 20, 2024

With some changes to your daily routine, you can help reduce the risk of your family, friends, and members of our Littleton community from contracting COVID-19. Here a few precautions that are proven to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus:

Washing Your Hands

In public, it's often necessary to touch surfaces that are common contact points for others. These include surfaces like buttons, handles, knobs, gas pumps, and shopping carts. After touching any of these surfaces, clean your hands as soon as you can with either bar or liquid soap. And until you're able to scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content, do not touch your face or phone.

Social Distancing

Physically distance yourself from people that do not live with you by keeping six feet away. This reduces your potential exposure to the coronavirus and protects others if you happen to have COVID-19 but are asymptomatic. If you need to sneeze or cough, do so into a tissue, then immediately dispose of it. Coughing or sneezing into the air sends out particles that can infect others. Additionally, stay home and contact your primary care physician if you experience any COVID-19 symptoms.

Wearing a Mask

A face covering helps prevent the transmission of viral airborne droplets from one person to another. We recommend wearing a face covering even if a store doesn't ask you to wear one and to wash it daily. A cloth mask will be the most comfortable, but a bandana or T-shirt can also cover your nose and mouth pretty well if you don't have a mask.
